Background and
experience as leadership development consultants
This site is written by two leadership development consultants, Mike
Bell and Robert Fordham. You may want to check out our credentials!
Here they are.
We met relatively recently, when Robert attended a series of workshops
run by Mike and his wife, Patricia. We discovered that we share a very
similar approach to unlocking performance - a focus on the power of
limiting or negative belief systems to block
(barricade!) potential and therefore inhibit performance.
We have pretty good creative chemistry, and fall into a co-coaching
mode relatively easily. This has been pretty productive.
As leadership development consultants, we ply our trade across the uk -
and internationally - from our base in Newcastle.
While our interest and approach to leadership development is fairly
similar, our backgrounds and experience are very different - and
complementary.
Robert has run a portfolio career for over twenty-five years. Much of
his focus has been on practitioner development in alternative health
care settings, with twin interests in the detailed life history work
needed for therapeutic work and experiential learning for professionals.
Communication and decoding metaphors and symbols in personal stories
is a particular interest - because they supply insights into the
unconscious. This is about leverage for personal and professional
development - what we don't know about, we can't change!

"Leadership development consultant" is a pretty new epithet for me.
But, looking back, I've led quite a few innovative, leading edge
developments - mainly taking up opportunities presented by working in
an emerging profession (alternative medicine).
So, in reverse chronological order -
I maintain a small homeopathy practice and a growing list of coaching
clients.
